Hi folks,
Just got back from the UK with an iPhone 5s and I'm trying to figure out if it will actually work on Vodafone's network.
It may not be unlocked as I got it second hand, but Skinny have told me it's incompatible with them. I don't know why. They have secrets they will never divulge.
Is there a way I can check whether or not it will work on Vodafone's network?
Cheers!

Hi @pax - First start by identifying the model of your iPhone if you can.
If it was sold in the UK it's likely to be Model A1457.
The bands look to be identical, but I'm not 100% certain about 4G Band 7 - the Asia Pacific region uses the "APT" flavour of Band 7.
Model A1457:
3G = UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz);
4G = Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20
Model A1530 (NZ model):
3G = UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz);
4G = FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20); TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40)
Next - you'll have to confirm whether it is an unlocked phone. You can do this by putting a local SIM card in it. (You need a nanoSIM)
