No issues with the new update here. It loads with the 1080p and no black screen problems.

Update started today straight into program
but when you try to go to recorded programs you get a black screen.
When you back out of it the black screen goes away until you try to go back into recordings.
They are there because if you blindly select it willrun a show.

I just tried going into my recorded programs to see if the same thing happened to me but it all worked fine.

Ok as far as i can tell original hdmi cable is connected between stb and amp.
System now starting up no black screen untill you try and go to recordings.
A restart fix's this even if you power every thing off and turn on again.it will work untill the next day.
And i think it is returning to 1020p .because i changed it to 720p yesterday but today it back on 1020p.
Regards Steve.

Hi guys,
Can you post what the solution is to this issue? We're having the exact same problem. Each new day after the tv has been off we get the black screen and have to unplug the box and plug it in again. Had tried the change to 720 as had been suggested but have the same issue of it automatically being reset to 1080 each day.
Cheers

The problem i was having is due to me running hdmi throught my amp . when i run hdmi cable direct from vodafone tv direct to tv the problem goes away..
And run optical cable audio from tv to amp for suround sound.

Thanks Stephen, there is nothing remotely special about my setup - direct to TV and modem using the hdmi and ethernet cables provided in the box. And my TV is 1080P so no reason why I should need to change the setting to 720 anyway. Have reset twice and that hasn't helped. And there are no updates pending. So I'll drect message Grant as Lyn suggested and se how I get on. If I get a solution I'll post it back here in case anybody else has the same.
Thanks everyone who has responded.
