Pause hides too much of the screen

The pause and play functionality is hopeless.

Pause darkens the screen and also puts a darkening gradient filter over the bottom of the third of the screen. As well as a big pause icon smack in the middle of the screen.

This makes it difficult to view the info at the bottom of the screen like the info banner for cricket, rugby stats, questions on the The Chase etc etc etc.

The block out appears to be so the basic programme info can be displayed, but the Info button does this anyway, so it is unnnecessary to block out just to display this info.

There also appears to be an assumption we are pausing to take a break and come back. We often pause to trap a moment when watching sport replays etc, but often can't see crucial details.

This is very second rate and the darkening and block out needs to be removed completely.

When the screen is paused, push the "BACK" button and the screen will clear so you can read all the info there.

Thanks heaps for the intel. Hilarious!!

Do you have any other unintuitive tips?

Will still leave this as unresolved because I still think Vodafone should fix this.

Thx again!
