We own a motorhome which has been fitted with a Vodafone Mifi
If we purchase VodafoneTV, are we able to stream to it using MiFi 3G or 4G mobile data.
Also we have the old white 3G MiFi device, Should we upgrade to the Black 3G/4G device

Technically this will work from a 4G mobile broadband perspective. 3G is limited to 384Kbps so not really good enough. Within you mobile home your WiFi will need to support 5Ghz (2.4Ghz won't work) or you will have to use Ethernet. Mobile traffic is not zero rated so be wary of your usage. You can expect to use up to 6 Mbps for HD channels and 2Mbps for SD.

@JamRam Why would 3G speed be limited to 384kbps? When 3G can do easy do 8 to 16 Mbps?
Release 99 of 3G is limited to 384k but Vodafone have deployed HSPA+ for many years which supports up 42Mbp/s (using 2 carriers of 21Mbps)

@johnr you're right. Can't argue with that

Sorry all but Im not a techie and I'm none the wiser.
1. Are you saying that my current 3G Mifi is capable? Yes/No
2. In your technical opinion, should I spend $99 and upgrade my 3G Mifi to 4G Mifi? Yes/No
Thanks for your assistance.

1. I am not sure what your 3G MIFI device is capable of but probably yes.
2. If the $99 is a one off charge and assuming your data charges are the same (which I assume they are) then yes, I would recommend upgrading to 4G

@lumialover Yes moving to 4G should be a given but make sure the unit supports 4G band 28 which the 700Mhz
Your Vodafone Mi-Fi unit should be OK but latency over 3G is high when compared to 4G
