If I move to another provider, will my Vodafone TV continue to work?

As of September, yes.  Vodafone have announced that they plan on selling the Vodafone TV box through retail outlets and allowing it to be used through other Fibre ISPs.  Good luck with that.

Greetings

Your Vodafone TV data is unmetered and not part of your broadband feed for which you pay a set amount each month and may or may-not be capped depending on your plan.

If you go to another ISP it is possible that the Vodafone TV data will be charged for as part of your broadband plan and subject to the vaguaries of internet speed depending on the time of day and the size of the pipe your ISP has available.

As another poster notes - good luck with that!

thanks db

I can only guess - maybe someone from Vodafone could confim.

My assumption is that if you move to another ISP, Vodafone will expect their current Vodafone TV box to be returned to them. Sounds like thsi is called the "Vodafone TV On Account" or "VTV OA" or "Gen 1" box.

And then you will need to buy one of the new retail boxes (just called "VTV", or "Gen 2") for $179.  That should have the new firmware, amd should run faster.

Apparently, the older Gen 1 box is supposed to be having the same firmware update.  Soon.  Please.

It would have been nice to have been provided these kinds of details on this forum - I had to go to a geekzone thread instead.

$179?  For a piece of junk?  Wow.  Vodafone should be paying people $1790 each for the hassle of using such a garbage product that is full of faults, faults that change over time and a service that allows you to do and watch a fraction of the product it replaced.

Mind you it is always fun being charged full whack for Sky to find you don't get all the features like recording everything and so forth.

How can you say the new box will be a piece of junk if it hasn't been released as yet. Or has it?.
