Hey @Hanzie thanks for the hints and tips, this all makes sense.
In my specific case however, the router is wired directly to the VodTV box, no wifi required and not the culprit. What this does prove is that the solution of having all boxes in the same room does not make any difference. And Vodafone have still not described what exactly the fault code means, it's certainly not a customer-facing message, that's for sure.
I totally concur about the lack of response, and, when responding.. a complete lack of technical knowledge.

VPN is not going to resolve your issues.
What I like to know is do you have your TV in the same room as the router?

I am getting the same issue with TV3, when trying to watch a recording of the 6 pm NewsHub. Unable to watch beyond around 28 minutes in to it,

Yep, it's been happening to me tonight too
Restarted brand new router
Reset VTV to factory settings
Network on VTV Says LAN Connected
self diagnostics say no problems detected with the service.
Only happening on some channels... SOHO is one of them and I have shows on it I want to watch tonight!!!!
