I have recently had fibre installed and have a Huawei HG659 modem and a Huawei router. I was wondering if it is possible to connect my computer by way of an ethernet cable to one of the router LAN ports in order to get internet on the computer or can I only connect to the modem LAN port? The reason I ask is that the modem and router are located in different places and it is easier to run the ethernet cable to the router than to the modem. Currently the ethernet cable provides interent when connected to the modem but not when I connect directly to the router port.

Hey there,
If the router has internet access to it via the modem already then you absolutely can use your internet connection via ethernet to the router
