What happens if you use the wrong APN, a number of of staff have found you dont need to use the APN vodafone you can use Sparks internet and still connect to Vodafone data?

We use assited GPS and staff have found if you go to an area that Spaks has no coverage and swap SIMs for a Vodafone SIM you dont have to change the APN settings. This suggests that the APN setting is not needed with Vodafone as you get data conneting with the wrong APN?

If you use www.vodafone.net.nz APN no 4G access

Anything in the APN field will default to the APN vodafone

If you don't have the correct APN on the device when roaming then the device will not connect to mobile data

Better to explain it is the GGSN has some smarts built into it so if end users have the incorrect APN it just uses the default Vodafone

But if a verified APN is used then it will use that

Two types of APN can be used verified and unverified. Google search can tell you the difference between the two
