We have just bought a Vodafone TV Box. Was told it was so easy to connect!!

we can not seem to connect our Vodafone TV to our WiFi. Our home network, password is entered but no luck will not connect. The modem is in the same room as the TV. Any help please.

Thanks

Bev

If it's in the same room then you should be using Ethernet cable for best performance

Wi-Fi should only be used if no other option is available!

Well Vodafone i think you have advertised your wonderful TV Box incorrectly!  You say its only minutes to install.

you didn’t say if you are going to install through your WiFi that you probably will not be able to.

we have taken one box back following a call to Vodafone who said take it back and get it refigured.

the staff at Noel leeming where we bought it didnt have a clue and gave us another.

back home same problem couldn’t get up the screen which gives us the choice of WiFi

from my study it maybe we have to change something on our modem (NF4V) to accomodate 5Ghz

whatever all that means. Any ideas

@BeverleyvanderHagen  I got a new VTV unit last night and had it connected up and running (registered) and subscribed to Sky in under 5 minutes I did not even look at the instructions!

You have to be doing something incorrect, What part of NZ are you located in?

The vodafone TV only works on 5Ghz wifi.

Your modem only does 2.4g wifi so cant be use to connect wirelessly. You'll need a new modem or connect via a cabled connection.

@BeverleyvanderHagen  Well as pointed out by @MrMorm  The Vodafone TV unit only supports 5Ghz Wi-Fi and your modem / router only does 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi so the issue is with your hardware

As already pointed out use the Ethernet cable

Thanks for all your help. I have contacted slingshot and they will provide a new Modem

it is “Netcomm NF18”.  They say this should work with the new Box.

so fingers crossed.

cheers Bev

@BeverleyvanderHagen  As long as the AP supports 5Ghz Wi-Fi you will be fine Smiley Happy

When you do the setup of VodafoneTV it's very simple

Apparently if you have an old router (even if its fibre) as we do, it only runs 2.4GHz, we will need to purchase a new modern router to run Vodafone TV
