The internet I pay for, access to Wargamming, has been unavailable to me since Saturday morning.

I upgraded to VDSL last week to get better gaming speed.

I have had to alter my DNS to allow at least some access to the Wargamming game server. There is a major update due to occur. Probably at midnight tonight.

It is likely that I will not be able to receive this update as all sites other than the game server are unreachable. If I cannot get the update then the game will be unplayable.

If that happens then I have use for Vodafone.

I will be looking elsewhere; Orcon are doing a good deal at the moment.

I contacted one of their Ninjas just now to query the problem.  They aren't tech people so didn't have many answers other than to say they have made some DNS changes that won't allow usewrs to access some websites or play some games, and that to reconfigure your modem we will need to ring their tech team to help reconfigure.

Seriously?  What possible reason could they have to make this change?  I reckon I'd much rather just "reconfigure" my internet provider

@Fanatic  That is 110% incorrect what the ninja has advised

I worked for VodafoneNZ for 17 years and have some fantastic contacts in Vodafone on the technology side and the issue is getting looked into

You don't need to touch anything on the router / modem as this will not help

Thanks Johnr. When you say the issue is being looked into, are you suggesting the "fix" will be sorted by Vodafone, or require customers to dig into their own routers/modems to reconfigure them? I don't have an issue doing this (except I can't remember my admin password) but this would be well beyond some users.

VFNZ has contacted the hosting provider over 24 hours ago. Sadly they advise us they are awaiting a response from there technical team. We are unable to get anymore information out of them. This was last followed up 30 minutes ago and still no update. Sorry for the inconvenience but this is out of our hands.

The problem is with Vodafone - not wargaming.

Works fine with every other NZ ISP.

Don't shift blame. Accept it's a Vondafone error, and come up with your compensation for multiple days of service disruption.

The webpage now opens fine using a 4G connection off a Vodafone SIM.

Won't open using Vodafone Fibre.

Still going to tell us that the problem is with Wargaming?

Sort your network out. Pathetic.

How can I get my fibre conneciton moved to use the same pool of addresses as for the 4G connections?

That will resolve the problem with whatever network segment you've managed ot break.
