VDSL without VoIP (low upstream)

Hey guys,

Figured i'd ask here in the hope the query may be understood better..

I live on the border of VDSL, only gaining a few mbit compared to ADSL.

With vectoring now live, it would be ideal to switch my Vodafone line over to VDSL.

Rates will be about 22/0.9mbit after moving with the bandplan chorus impose for US0. Being sub 1mbit, I'm not really keen to pipe voip over that. (Fears of voice quality issues etc).

is it possible to keep the copper voice product with an upgrade? or is that completely disallowed now?

You can still stay the phone line on the phone jack at present time.

I am around the same upload speed that you got, my phone line is back of the modem, I can't hear any difference with the voice quality

Hope that helps

Problem is, my networks usage patterns.

It's already spread across two links.

Besides, i'd love the connection to be delivered over CCN ala, Baseband IP since that's where we are headed soon Smiley Wink

hi There

The codecs used for VOIP should only use 200Kbps simultaneous voice so if you are not maxing out the US/DL BW you should be ok.
