USA Roaming only 3G?

I've been roaming in the USA and it seems like my $7 a day is only getting me 3G coverage. And I should add slow to very slow data (at the moment I get upload of 14Kbps on a speed test), Smiley Sad

Is there any reason for this, has Vodafone only got 3G roaming in the USA?

Hi Simon

We have 4G roaming in the USA for sure. (And I have used it myself personally as well)

Where abouts in the US are you? Are you in a 4G coverage area?

What carrier are you roaming on? Can you try manually selecting another carrier?

Cheers

Sebastian

4G bandsLTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 20(800), 26(850), 28(700), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

I didn't observe any 4G coverage at all.

I didn't try manually selecting another carrier.

I did see T-Mobile displayed as the carrier from time to time.

Could also be a band issue depending on what phone you use.

T-Mobiles 4G bands.

LTE: Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 12 (700 MHz), Band 66 (Extension of band 4 on 1700/2100 MHz), Band 71 (600 MHz).

Out of interest when you did a speed test what was the location of the speedtest servers you tested, USA or NZ
