Trying to connect a new D-Link EXO router to an existing Vodafone modem / router

I'm trying to connect a new D-Link EXO AC3000 Wi-Fi router to an existing Vodafone modem / Wifi.

Have followed all the setup instructions, but the router cannot connect to the internet.

I have tested the ethernet connection from the old modem, and works fine.
Connection type is VDSL.

Have done some reasearch and have tried enabling VLAN and setting to 10, but didnt work.

Hi

VLAN 10 on that router is only if you are connecting it to fibre directly, so you'll need to leave that off.

To set the Dlink up you need to have this connected to the VDSL modem;

- The DLink internet connection needs to be set up as DHCP (automatic IP) without vlan tag.

- The DLink **WAN/Internet** port needs to be connected via Ethernet cable to the modems **LAN **port (not modem WAN port)

- If you want to use the Dlink for its parental controls then choose Router mode in the set up. This mode controls al lthe connected devices, instead of Access Point mode which leaves the modem to manage the IP addresses and control of connected devices. (the dlink may use slightly different names for these 2 options)

-  turn off the Wifi on the modem and just use the Dlink Wifi as Wifi devices on the modem wont be controled by the Dlink parental controls.

Hope this helps
