B315 modem in Outer Marlborough Sounds:
About 2 months ago I noticed speed reducing.
yesterday (24/7/20) 4g dropped to 3G. Contacted Vodafone and followed their instructions : reset modem etc. Listened to lecture on how weather affected signal ( having been here in severe gales and extreme rain with good 4g speed!) and told that all Vodafone services were normal.
3g dropped to 2g and then by 9 in the evening all signal lost on modem and both iPhones. House phone from internet lost so unable to contact Vodafone.
this morning drove to area where I normally get 4 bars on IPhones- both Iphones failed to connect and only 1/2 bars intermittently showing.
This afternoon some service returned, but still very poor speed, 5Mbs whereas I am normally getting 20-25 down.
Modem shows 4g but no bars.
Vodafone helpline still insisted there was no problem with their signal.
somewhat annoying to be asked if it was a sunny day at 8pm in Winter!
I would appreciate resumption of 4g service with 4g speed

Having the same problem over here in Te Awamutu aswell as 2 of my friends who are over in Morrinsville, But ours is only as of the last 2 weeks not months as you've having but still doesnt explain why they arent doing anything to try and fix this problem at all.
I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I've had rural broadband for nearly 2 years now and 99% of the time It never lags/slows down no matter what the weather is. It could be durying a really bad storm and I'd still have 20mbs+ download speeds but I cant even hold 5mbs speeds on a fine day now.... It's ridiculous.
If this doesnt get resovled sometimes soon I know for a fact that all 3 of us will be having to find new ISP's. I really don't want it to end up that way, especially with vodafone being one of the best rural providers I've ever been with but If I can't even hold a bloody 5mbs speed it looks like we'll have to...

I've been with Vodafone for 20+ years , here, overseas, urban and rural, I don't want change, but now I'm down to 2Mbs download - just not good enough.
maybe when Vodafone sold out, - the commitment to good broadband went too!

23/7 - Hokitika cell site had a fault lasting about a day
24/7 - Te Awamutu cell site had a fault for a few hours.
Tomorrow morning when you see this can you just power off and on the modem no need to do a reset. If you are still having issues after that call the call centre tell them to log a INC for you. If they want you to do all the samething you have already done advise them of this post and that VFNZ needs them to log a INC

Thanks mate, will do.
But this still doesnt explain why its been happening for the last couple weeks for me and the other guy on the post a couple months?

I am not sure of what the faults were, but yes i would think the sympton of the fault would not have been noticed/ongoing for weeks before the dates I mentioned.

The Hokitika mast is 400km away and behind the Richmond ranges. The fault was afternoon 24 to evening 25/7 not 23rd.
Bulwer is 20km away, I think the fault is there.
still getting 3.5 down 0.16 up, not acceptable for broadband.( 0700 on 26th)
poor speeds for 2 months, now very very slow, not really broadband!

The Bulwer / Marlborough site was upgraded last week. I got a notification of the completion of the work yesterday afternoon.
Are you still having issues? If so, please do call customer services and get a fault logged to investigate. Important so that any issues introduced that may have affected you by the upgrade are identified.
