Beginning about 4 days ago I started getting high pings while playing BF4, rendering the game unplayable. From what I have been told it is to do with vodafone routing their traffic through USA then back to Australia. Can anyone shed more light on this? I will switch to another provider in a heart beat if this doesn't get resolved soon.

Exactly the same problem for me. I called Vodafone and they said no issues and traffic to Aus not routed via US (ping would be much higher than what I am experiencing). They also got me to ping Aussie servers such as google.com.au which responded in 30ms showing that traffic not routed via US.
Normally I play on these Aus servers with ping just under 30, now ping 155 -180. All the servers are kicking me for high ping and cannot play.
Please Vodafone sort this out. Lot of people affected by whatever change you have made.

Hi,
We can see the routing out of our network is good, but the return path is going via the US. We've raised the issue with the Australian network.
On a related note, we regularly monitor latency to gaming servers, including a different BF4 server: 203.26.94.188. Maybe time to update the list, so if you have any suggestions let me know.

Really impressed with your response to this issue.
If you could add these two IP addresses to your list of monitored BF4 servers. They are two of the most heavily used servers by kiwis.

Chris added these today well 203.98.81.83 anyway. Will check tomorrow about the other 1 and arrange if not added
