Hi

Does Fibre use more data up than ADSl or VDSL? I have recently changed to fibre and have chewed through my data in a third of the time and even had an increase of data amount! How can this be? any suggestions out there?

@jh05

Faster but not more. The content you consume is the driver, so for example if you’re using Netflix it will detect your faster connection and serve up HD video instead of SD over adsl or vdsl.

As above, with a better connection online streaming can ramp up quality, thus sucking more data. Seen this when people move from poor performing xDSL to fast 4G rural broadband. With no change in usage, data consumption can go up 4 fold or more.
