Hi,
The S7 Oreo Update has been rolling out for about a month now. What would be the ETA for NZ?
Regards,
Jason

That'll be down to Samsung but will ask our device team to see if they have had any updates.

As usual, Samsung are slower than a glacial defrost during an Ice Age with their rollouts.

Samsung has rolled out the update to quite a few places in the last two weeks. Hoping the NZ rollout isn't far away.

Yep. I got the SamMobile updates regarding the roll out. But as usual, New Zealand is often last.

Android O with Samsung Experience 9 is available now via OTA.
So far no real issues. Just had to make minor tweaks to Contacts lists - some of my contacts became unlinked, requiring a little finessing.
A few apps that should have been done before the update were available after the update was done; strangely, not before.

Remember, your device will get hot during this update. If concerned and once the restart update had been completed, you may wish to turn off your device for 10 - 15 minutes to cool down. Won't that be a nice break?

An interesting article on the S7/S7 Edge running Android O over on Android Central for those interested

This is an American article, so there may be some differences from what we have available. But fundementally, its the same.

1 July 2018 Security patch update available now for S7E and should be similar for S7

Although, what really annoys me is that European owners of the same phone are receiving the August patch after receiving the July patch a month ago.

As usual here in NZ we are way behind when it comes to security patches for our phones.
The September patch has been released for Galaxy S7 phones in the United Kingdom https://www.sammobile.com/2018/09/14/galaxy-s7-update-september-2018-security-patch
Apparently our small consumer market doesn't warrant the latest in monthly security patches and instead we have to wait two or three months to get delivery of a much larger patch (assuming it arrives at all), potentially putting all owners at risk.
I am sure that this action would be a breach of our Consumer Guarantees Act.
What are your thoughts on this?
