Yes. If that fails, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. 

 

Ideally, use the messaging app and ensure the message service number is that of Vodafone NZ, which is +6421600600

 

If that fails, try back up and master reset.

Somewhat off-topic, but why are there two different messaging apps installed on the phone anyway?

Simple: Apple iPhone = this is how to use your phone. Android phones = how would you like to use your phone?

I don't have an Apple iPhone, I have a Vodafone Smart N8. The apps installed are "Phone", "Messaging", "Call+" and "Message+." I'm guessing the first two are Android default apps and the latter two (which appear to be causing the problem we're talking about in this thread) are Vodafone's own apps?

The disabling/uninstalling of Call+&Message+ and promotion of Messaging to the default message app has indeed stopped the annoying notification from appearing - hooray - but whoever created the Call+&Message+ app should accept that it has a bug and fix it. I'd like to get back to it.

Yeah, I tried reactivating Call/Message+ and got a message saying a verification code would be sent to me, which hasn't arrived. So it does appear to be a glitch with that particular app. Smiley Sad
