Anyone know why the likes of the new Samsung A20 still doesn't show a voLTE turn on option in the connection settings ?
If you look at the Vodafone voLTE coverage map, the whole of Auckland is now pretty much covered but the Samsung phones still have not had the automatic software update to use it yet.
Pretty sure its not happening in the background, overseas the voLTE symbol is clearly displayed on the A20 at the top of the screen and you can turn it on or off like here...

I want to buy a new phone but its pointless in my home location until voLTE is up and running.

@Carlos2 Simple it's not on the VoLTE supported list
Samsung - Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10E, Galaxy Note10
Where did you get your handset from?

Also when looking at the A20 specs on the Vodafone NZ site it does not advise VoLTE support
Mentions HD voice which is over 3G and is not VoLTE

Well clearly we are getting a crap version of the A series phones because the A series overseas versions DO HAVE VoLTE support. You don't need an expensive phone to get it but perhaps they are marketing in NZ so you do need an expensive phone.
Its definatley 4G voice, see the coverage map.

@Carlos2 VodafoneNZ has not enabled VoLTE on the Samsung A20, The handset will support VoLTE but Vodafone has chosen not to enable it and it is not sold as a VoLTE handset by VodafoneNZ
The handset wil support it but it's disabled in the software
I know where VoLTE mobile coverage is and I understand how it works

So basically Samsung and/or Vodafone have chosen NOT to enable what is just a software release to enable you to use voLTE in the Samsung A20 just so they can call it a "Feature" and sell you a more expensive phone if you need it ?
