just purchased a iphone se and needed to do a sim swap as I was running a 4s. Did the sim swap, I thought, but now I have a 4s with no service and a SE saying no sim installed. Also now no phone to call Vodafone to fix the problem.

'No SIM Installed' indicates the handset is not physically detecting the SIM installed in it.
Have you actually put the new SIM into your new phone? And is it installed correctly (not upside down etc)?
Try removing / reinsterting it, give it a wipe etc.
Lastly try the new SIM in another handset, to work out if issue is with your new handset, or a problem with the SIM.
