New iPhone 8 can't connect to 4G?

I've just switched from an S6 to the new iPhone 8 and am only able to pick up 3g signal.  I have had the same SIM card for several years, and want to know if that's the issue.  How do I find out whether I need a new SIM card or not?

Hi @SwiftDesign

 

If you were able to use 4G on your S6 then you should be able to on your S8 (will be enabled on your SIM). Another way to check 4G is enabled on your connection is to log into your My Vodafone account. Go to Your Plan> Plan and Add Ons.

 

Was your iPhone 8 purchased from Vodafone NZ?

Thanks for the reply, I can't tell if my S6 was on 4G as it displayed the signal as LTE (which I thought was 4G) or H.  I've checked my account and 4G upgrade is free.  The iPhone 8 was purchased from Vodafone Whakatane today.

Another reason why I thought it may be the SIM, is that I've had the same one since the iPhone 4S came out and if my memory serves me right, that phone was not 4G.  Are there any ways to check?

4G or LTE would be enabled on our side of things, so if you had it for the S6 then should carry over. Has anything else changed - plan etc?
