No more email service

Just read on stuff your plan to kill your email service.

If I read the article correctly, if I change to gmail for example, you can forward any emails on my 'clear' account to the gmail one?

I just need to send you the relevant information about which new email account I set up?

How long would you provide this service for after November?

The nuisance value of this is off the scale!!!!

With regard to this, If we set up an alternative email address for email to be auto forwaraded to will these messages still be subject to your spam filter before been forwaraded?

@jrw

Thanks for your post.

Yes, your existing Clear email address will be forwarded to whatever new email address you select and put into the forwarding tool, details of which you will receive in an email over the coming days.

So, you don't have to do anything until you receive the email from us.

If I have to change my email to another server, can you give me a good reason why I should keep Vodafone as my ISP?

I was told that they are only closing email address that people arn't using and that you just need to send a email to vodafone and they will keep your email adress open if you wish to continue using it....

No, not correct.

  • All Vodafone email services will shut down on 30 November 2017
  • You will receive an email from us with details and a personalised link to set up forwarding (if you want it)
  • Auto forwarding is free and will remain active permanently.

More info and FAQs about email here.

As I use very little internet, speed is not that important to me but a reliable email service is.

If, as you say, my mail will be forwarded to a new email address indefinitely, then I guess I can live with that.

@MikeHales

I'm having trouble understanding VF's logic on this, one moment it's "we are shutting down the mail servers because of the volumes of spam", but on the other hand you will auto forward it and still run it through the spam filter.

so why are you still wanting to deal with the spam?

I'm in two minds what to do here, I really don't want to auto forward to a free outlook or gmail address as they really arn't free, they gleen marketing information from it.

That leaves me to go with a paid service, I thought I was already diung that with VF??

Another question, if we choose to not autoforward email, how will your email bill now be delivered? (you actually don't expect people to pay for the paper version now that you cut off the electronic version?).

My compromise on this will be, turn off your spam filter and i'll agree to an alternative email address for billing purposes
