How to unlock my mobile phone for another provider

Hi there, I would like to know if we can unlock a phone that is locked to vodafone, what i mean is I want top use another provider for this phone ive got now and use my other vodafone sim for the fone i have prior.... I have 2 phones

Looks like you need to call them tomorrow.Whats your reason for wanting to use it on another network?Vodafone might have something similar to save you the charge of unlocking

I had brought my sister a phone and it was locked to Vodafone, She wants to use 2Degrees... Thanks

Yes but it's going to cost $30 as I understand, You would be better off going back to the retailer who sold you the handset and exchanging it

I have alumia 520 which i bought from vodafone for my wife. I was really surprised that it didnt work well with telecom sim! Does it mean that its locked as well?

@ebymathew84No does not mean it's SIM locked at all, If it was SIM locked the handset would come up asking for a code when the TelecomNZ SIM was in the handset

 

TelecomNZ does not operate on all the same frequencys as VodafoneNZ so the handset is not suited for the TelecomNZ network

 

Vodafone NZ uses 2G / 3G on 900Mhz  3G also on 2100Mhz and 4G on 1800Mhz

 

Telecom NZ uses 3G on 850Mhz and some but very limited 3G on 2100Mhz and 4G on 1800Mhz

Im traveling back to the Islands tomorrow and i would love to still be able to use this phone i bought from vodafone
