Thanks.

As your Pioneer is 4K capable it is handshaking 4K over HDCp with the set top box.  Your Pioneer only supports 4K pass through (it does not down convert to HD) and your tv, plugged into the Pioneer, is only HD capable. The message displayed on the TV is being generated by the Pioneer.

Some options to try:

  1. Find a HDMI cable not capable of HDCP 2.x and use between the STB and Pioneer
  2. Use Optical out of the STB and plug HDMI into the TV direct
  3. Buy a 4K capable TV to replace the LG (a late Xmas gift to yourself?) 😀

Cheers,

Grant

ok thanks for the info

if I look at the specs for the stb it says only outputing HDCP 1.x

buying a 4k TV is n expensive way to prove the problem, how sure are you this will work?

thanks

Laurence
