Overview

We’re upgrading our 4G network with new capability that will support our next generation of products.

Some customers' devices may not be fully compatible with the latest changes we’re rolling out to our 4G network. These customers may notice 4G connectivity issues if they have not installed the latest firmware on their device.

What can I do if I am Impacted?

Update the firmware on your device using the process outlined by the device manufacturer.

Some handsets (highlighted orange in the table below) are not supported by Vodafone, we therefore cannot guarantee that a firmware update will resolve the issues.

Does this 4G upgrade affect the RBI B315 Modems

If so where can we get the firmware update?

Yes this has knocked out LTE700 on a lot of B315s. Update instructions here: http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/24400 Or if you need the generic version it can be found here: http://www.ultimatebroadband.co.nz/uploads/5/5/5/8/5558251/b315s-607_update_21.327.01.30.1085.bin

Thank you Coffebaron

Is the B325 Firmware version: 21.323.03.01.1085 availabkle as a bin download?

192.168.1.1/html/update.html The 'Online Update' says Current version 21.300.03.00.1085 'This version is up-to-date'

Also I had a long converstion with Mobile Tech Support (0800-921-021) re my modem dropping back to 3G (from normally good 4G) and was only asked to reboot/rset the B315

Would be helpful if Tech Support new about the new 4G firmware

does the generic firmware 21.327.01.30.1085 work on the vodafone modem/network or only ultimatebroadband?

I have applied generic firmware to Vodafone branded successfully, but be aware this would be at your own risk.

hi

you would not get the new software update for the B315 if you have the generic update which also has some bugs.

Also the issue was not on the firmware which probably not fix it.

the latest firmware is not uploaded here yet but it will be shown there soon as i requested it to be put up here ( 21.329.XXX.XX)

Dilhan tks for pointer the the firmware help page.

My B315 was running vodafone firmware 21.300.03.00.1085

I logged into modem and got update available message, proceeded to do the [Online Update]

modem downloaded new firmware 21.329.01.00.1085 and went into install phase

install froze at 99% for over 90 mins

contacted tech support are advised to turn off/on (unplug/plug) then press reset in various sequences

In end took modem to Vodafone shop - result modem 'bricked'

Now have replacement B525s-65a (good result) on condition i resigned with vodafone for 24 months (potentially bad result)

should just have replacement modem as bricking was a vf firmare update gone wrong!
