Windows 8.1 Phone

I have just read that support and updates for my Nokia Lumia 520 ended on the 11th July this year (I know, I'm a bit slow).  Now I never use this phone on the internet either WiFi or Data and wondered if the lack of updates etc matters if I only use it for texting and calling ie do I need to replace it (it's not our main mobile phone).

Hi there. No its fine you can continue to use it as you are, it's not going to stop connecting to the mobile network or anything.

It just means Microsoft won't be pushing out any updates that fix potential bugs in the operating system or apps etc.

Hi There, thanks for the fast response!!!   So I am okay and not compromising any safety to keep using it then, just as a phone.  I assume that it would be a little 'un'secure only if I used it on the Internet?
