What are correct settings for SMTP for @vodafone.net.nz accounts

I can receive but not send email.

 

On various vodafone help pages the SMTP server is given as smtp.vodafone.net.nz, smtp2.vodafone.net.nz, smtp.vodafone.co.nz or smtp2.vodafone.co.nz.

 

Which is correct?

 

Is port 25 correct?

Is NO SECURITY correct?

Is NO SIGN ON correct?

 

I have tried all combinations of the above and still cannot send email from my phone (Galaxy Note II GT-N7105).

 

This is very frustrating!

Please use these settings.

 

Server : smtp2.vodafone.net.nz

No SSL

Port 25

Tick require sign

username : full email address

password : *******

Thanks, but I get:

 

'Unable to connect to email server to verify your account information. No response from server'.

 

BTW - Do I have to be in NZ to send email from my @vodafone.net.nz account? Maybe that is the issue?

 

Also, have deleted and rebuilt account ... same issue ...

Not necessary to be in NZ to use the server.

 

Are you roaming? Using mobile data or wifi?

BTW I have just tried that setting using Outlook 2007 on my PC (Ethernet connection) ... get error 'outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) server ...' ... incoming mail is just fine.

BTW .. I used to be able to send mail from this account ... not sure when it stopped working.

Try these settings as per the internode website.(note : will only work while on internode internet connection)

 

mail.internode.on.net

port 25

no authentication, no SSL

 

http://www.internode.on.net/support/guides/email/secure_email/

 

 

Use webmail if it doesn't work.

https://webmail.vodafone.co.nz/vfwebmail/
