Hi There,

Not sure what is going on with this, can someone explain it (in layman's terms) and let me/us know what, if any, action Vodafone is taking or needs to take.  Thanks

"Vodafone NZ is aware of the potential security threat to the WPA2 protocol which is used to encrypt and authenticate traffic on Wi-Fi networks.

Vodafone is working with manufacturers to update their devices to protect against vulnerability.

Vodafone NZ is not aware of any customers being directly affected by the threat, but urges people to keep their devices and security software updated"

Regards

Thank you Rochelle.  Is Vodafone going to be updating current modems automatically with any security updates at all?  Also, how do I know if I need to update my modem manually please?

I have logged into my modem to update the firmware. The vodafone wireless modem user guide for HG659 says there should be a Firmware Upgarde button under Maintain/Device Management (as well as a backup button) but I only have reboot and factory restore.

How can I update it please?

You need to log into admin mode (see other threads on this). There is no firmware patch for this yet for the HG659 or other modems

Can I just ask, does the modem upgrade/update automatically with any changes made by Vodafone anyway?

@Fantail18@MrMorm@jonomel

Happy to confirm HG659 not vulnerable to KRACK and no update required.

Cheers
