Internet disconnect when using a cordless phone

Hi,

 

For a little while, every time our cordless phone rings or when we use it, the internet disconnects and it's becoming really annoying.  When hung up, the internet resumes.

 

Also, we have an ordinary phone also connects to the filter and it seems to be working fine and carry on using the internet.

 

Can anyone suggests if anything can be fixed or change settings when using the cordless phone?

Sounds like the cordless phone is interrupting the wireless network - you need to try changing the channel that the wireless signal is broadcast on by your modem.

At the moment the filter is plugged into the telephone line.  The fliter is being plugged with an ADSL line from the Vodafone station and I have a double adapter plugged in for the two telephones (one for the ordinary telephone which it's working while using the internet and the other is for the cordless phone which I have removed until I have it fixed).

What happens if you remove the double adapter and plug the cordless phone's line directly into the port on the filter?

Tried that and was getting the same problem. So have removed it and use the ordinary phone for now.

Sounds like a house wiring issue have you got a master filter installed on the line coming into the house? This is not a line filter that goes between modem and telephone jack point,

I am not sure if we have a master filter installed on the line coming into the house - how do I find that out?

Hi Celeliza

Welcome back to Vodafone Community.

I'm wondering if there might be a conflict with the wireless signal your phone is using..? The phone and your wireless network might both be using signals around 2.4GHz to transmit and receive information. Do you happen to know what make and model the cordless phone is, or does it have a sticker on it saying "2.4GHz"?

Hi Dylan,

 

The cordless phone is UNIDEN SS 15 (we have two of those) and it does mention "2.4Ghz" in the manual.

And are you using the Internet through wifi? Is it possible to test with a network cable instead to confirm? If that helps we can easily change the exact signal your modem's using to another wireless channel.
