Assistance with setting up OpenDNS

Hi there,

 

I am wanting assistance with changing the DNS settings where you login to your modem online. I have just received a Vodafone Ultra Hub Modem and cannot find anywhere online where I can enter my own DNS settings as I want to be able to restrict certain web pages by using OpenDNS through my router instead of changing this on individual devices as people can change the settings back again, I want to change these in the router itself to ensure my family do safe searches on the internet.

Log into your Ultra Hub and select advanced mode up the top of the menu

Select LAN

Update the Local DNS Server IP address (there is only space for one IP, so you wont be able to add both opendns ones, but thats ok)

Turn off DNS proxy

click apply

Go to IP V6 Basic Config menu, turn off DNS (or you can just turn all IPv6)

click apply

 

restart or refresh ips on your devices

I recieved the latest Vodafone Ultra Hub Plus from Vodafone.
I switched Advanced Mode to update the Local DNS Server IP address & turned off DNS proxy,
but when I clicked "Apply" the Local DNS IP changed back to  192.168.1.1 ???
and DNS Proxy came back on?
Any idea why or what I may be doing wrong?

Hi Have you solved your problem. I have the same question as you are. Still can not fix it.

No unfortunately not. I had to revert back to my old router.
Do you think Vodafone has disabled this feature on purpose?
If that is the case perhaps it can be retored by flashing with original factory firmware?
