I recently got fibre installed to my house a few weeks ago and since then my desktop has been having internet issues when i play Counter strike. my wireless receiver is the TP-LINK TL-WN881ND (2.4GHz receiver). I have tried changing the channel for the 2.4Ghz connection and even setting a maximum speed limit for my desktop but it doesnt change anything. i get over 500ms ping and its driving me mad. please help.

Is it possible to use an Ethernet cable?

The short answer is the 2.4ghz spectrum is super crowded, most you could do is try to find a better channel.

I would suggest a gear upgrade, use 5ghz wireless if you is shorter range so less interference from neighbours and other devices, but the best solution would be to use an ethernet cable to the router as it will be free of interference.
