@GavinO

We do offer Blacklist but unfortunately, that's only for Mobile and TXTs. Calls and international calls are a lot trickier

Yes you can. Well at least you can if it's an android or a Samsung.

Goto settings

           My Device

            Call

             Call Rejection

              Auto Reject  List

Now it's how you enter the number. It will accept part thereof, recting anything that contains the number string

ie: Those UK numbers such as +442204993966  (Note - Begins with a + symbol)

or 00442205670451  (Note begins with 0044)

Start by entering the full number so that is blocked ie: 00442205670451  or  +442204993966

Next enter the number +44220  or +4422  ( or +44 which will lock out the entire UK ) The less digits you enter, the greater the range of numbers that will be blocked.

After that enter a few of the digits beginning with 004422 etc.

For what it's worth, I searched those +4422 numbers a fedw months ago, and from memory they are reserved numbers that are being highjacked by telemarketers and fraudsters.

Hope this helps

Cheers kiwiozie

Further to what I said in my last reply. This is ihe info I got from OFTEL UK.

+442204   Local 02204

The 02204 dialling code covers Geographic expansion and the surrounding area.

Oftel records show that numbers starting 02204 993 are protected from allocation. Where numbering capacity has been withdrawn from service, the block or code is sterilised for a period, typically 2 years. Alternatively the Oftel Numbering Unit might protect capacity for a limited period, to avoid dialling errors into similar codes.

Phone numbers beginning 02204 are geographic numbers.

(02x) xxxx xxxx

    London (020 area code)
    Southampton (023 area code)
    Portsmouth (023 area code)
    Coventry (024 area code)
    Northern Ireland (028 area code)
    Cardiff (029 area code)

It looks like the 022 range is not in official use & is being highjacked.

Regards

G'day Kiwiozie

Thanks for this infomation.

It seems I am far from alone with these issues.  My wife has started getting calls from Algeria and our neighbours are being deluged with calls too.

I installed an app called WideProtect and its saving my sanity.

Cheers!

Gavin

Hi Mike,

I too have been receiving a lot of oversease calls recently in the last few weeks. They would call either around NZ midday or towards the evening, sometimes once a week, but it has now progressed to someitmes 3 times a week. When I look through my call history this actually goes as far back as August 2017 - they seemed to stop for a bit but are back now.

Below are the numbers that have been calling me by month. None are repeat callers but it is still very concerning that I'm receiving all these calls, none of which I answer as I'm not expecting a call from overseas, nor do I know anyone overseas who would call me instead of reaching me by other means of communication.

It would be great if Vodafone could assemble a list of overseas numbers that people are complaining about & investigate what is happening, & also make their customers (us!) aware of this. An email or text to a link with this database of unwanted overseas callers would be a good starting point.

I would very much like to avoid being roped into some kind of scam &/or have my security compromised without Vodafone taking any action despite various customers voicing their concerns.

Hi @Anonymous834 - sorry to hear you've been targetted by these people. Please give our contact centre a ring and they will lodge a nuisance call request for you. These callers are not simply targetting Vodafone customers, it is currently an issue for all service providers.

Hi Lon,

Thanks for your reply. I rang Customer Service today & they have advised for me to download a call blocking app as with the nuisance call request, they are unable to block overseas numbers.
