K4607-Z USB Vodem Stick & TP-Link TL-MR3020 connection Help

Hi I am trying to connect a Device (non PC) via 3G internet using a K4607-Z USB Vodem Stick and a TP-Link TL-MR3020 3G Router.

Router has latest firmware available.

The previous model of the stick is listed as being compatible (K3771) but has been discontinued and not available.

The connnection cannot be made using a Pocket Wifi as a LAN connection is required.

The Vodem stick works perfectly plugged directly into a PC.

TP-Link router detects the stick accurately, showing New Zealand and Vodafone and prepopulating all settings but connection is not successful.

The PIN is turned off.

APN is showing as live.vodafone.com. Dial Number is *99#.

Any suggestions or anybody had any luck with a similar excersise?

Also worth noting the status indicator on the stick is solid blue, indicating a good connection.

Many thanks,

Alastair

Update: Solved using 3rd party firmware found here: http://www.ofmodemsandmen.com/supported.html

No additional config needed, updated firmware and it was away.

Hi,

I have the same TP-Link router and a K5160 USB Vodem Stick. The usb stick seems to be "identified" during the setup process but gets stuck on "connecting" stage.

Any help on how I can solve this? I have changed the APN from live.vodafone.com to vodafone and have also tried www.vodafone.net.nz but this does not help.

Any help will be great.

Regards,

Moonis
