4G mobile & broadband issues - WLG Central

Hey Team,

 

I live across the road from the Transmitters listed below. Since sunday 19th, 4G has been down for 4G vodafone.

I am uanble to use 4G on my phone, 3G works fine. Then with my wireless mobile boardband, I've forced to turn it down to 3G too. Is there planned work going on? Or Anything? Has been working fine for over 6 months. Getting sick of the 3G speeds, and gaming ping.

 

Any update would be great.

Heya looking at the data on the site it's on air, taking traffic and not showing sign of degradation.

From description you're getting no 4G at all or connecting to 4G but unable to browse?

On mobile, no 4G at all. 3G - fine.

 

On 4G broadband(router B315), I get very light connection on LTE Preferred(4g). By light I mean the odd page may load after 5-10 seconds. 

 

After a day or two of it being down, I called vodafone whom said to use 3G for now. So currently on the network UMTS 3G Preferred.

Did the rep log an INC for you perchance?

 

Cell site mentioned still looks ok. That said even if its close by your device might not be connecting to it. Cell sites don't broadcast 360 degrees. Standard setup is three directional sectors. You might be in the null of one of these sectors and connecting to another further away.

 

I have however been looking at a couple of 4G issues in Wellington. Yesterday found and got fixed an issue in Newton. And this A.M another issue on Taranaki Street which is currently a work in progress.

No he didn't, he just told me to change my router setting to UMTS 3G Preferred. It has worked fine the setting  LTE Preferred(4g) for over 8 months, so unsure why the sudden change. Same with 4G on my phone.

The router hasn't moved location too.

 

Taranaki street is parallel to my street(Egmont Street).

Ok sweet your issue likely related to the Taranaki site then.

That site should be ok now - change your modem back to 4G preferred and see how it goes Smiley Happy

Yeah throughput issue. Site was still on air hence wasn't triggering any alarms etc. Root cause still being looked into by us and our vendor.

Glad to hear it's all good now Smiley Happy
