Inactive call

when I call any number, my sim says : "Your account is not activated. Your call cannot be completed." Why? I haven't recharged for nearly 6 months. But not more than that. How can I recover it? Can you please help?

Hi - my 83 yo father in law SIM is now inactive- can this be fixed. He is on prepay and does not look at his messages.
