Hi, I see others have had similar issues and I am too am trying to find out what is causing my slow VDSL upload speed. I use Microsoft OneDrive. Downstream line rate (kbit/s): 29433
Maximum upstream rate (kbit/s): 1263
Maximum downstream rate (kbit/s): 28960
Upstream noise safety coefficient (dB): 6.4
Downstream noise safety coefficient (dB): 4.4
Upstream interleave depth: 0
Downstream interleave depth: 0
Line standard: VDSL
Upstream line attenuation (dB): 9.6
Downstream line attenuation (dB): 24.6
Upstream output power (dBmV): 10.5

Do you have a master filter/splitter installed?

Ah no I don't. I recall asking Chorus about this in regards another issue but that was fixed by replacing the line filter. I'd forgotten about the Master splitter. Might have to ask vodafone how much it would cost!

VDSL is very sensitive to condition of wiring and multiple jack-points in the home.

hi

looking at it your VDSL connection seems quite border line. So a master splitter may or may not help.

that line syncrate looks ok if you are somewhere around the borderline.

Hi there,

Vodafone did upgrade our ADSL into VDSL.

My upload speed is very slow and I am wondering if that is normal.

I am connected to my Vodafone Ultrahub and and it shows download 31.3 Mbit/s and upload 1.1Mbit/s.

5 Devices are connected but only 3 are always on the other 2 occasionally.

I use onedrive and the upload seems to take forever and i can only upload at night because we are not able to use the the download at the same time.

The connection cuts out frequently with downloads of 0.5Mbit/s and upload 0.01Mbit/s. That goes on for several minutes and than it comes back to life.

It is very frustrating if we try to work on the pc.

Ookla Speed Test (when connection is stable)

Ping: 19 ms    Download: 23.11 Mbps    Upload: 1.02Mbps

Can somebody tell me if that is correct for VDSL?

Many Thanks

Falk

The cut outs and the upload speed is definitely not good enough.

I actually believe my ADSL connection was faster and mor stable.

I do hope one of the Vodafone Ninjas does reply to this post!!!

So regarding the slow vdsl upload speed and the cut outs.

I spoke to the vodafone tech service. We did change the channel of my Vodafone Smart Hub as the channel that is in on the Automatic setting was too occupied (too many networks around on the same channel).

The connection seems more stable now.

Regarding the upload speed, it did not increase by changing the channel. When I am locked into my modem it shows the actuall down - and upload speed which is Downl: 31.4 Mbit/s and Upload: 1.1 Mbit/s.

Screenshot (1).png

According to Vodafones advertising for VDSL speeds, it should be between 5-30Mbit/s upload speed.

Screenshot (4).png

And here is the speed test from speedtest.net of what you are really getting with VDSL.

Screenshot (5).png

So the actual upload speed is minimum 5 times slower as advertised.

In my case it is probably the internal wiring of my house... I am not sure but it is unlikely because the wires can deal with 31.4 Mbit/s of download.

I do hope this helps and I am still waiting for some improvements regarding the speeds.

Thank you

PS: My connection did cut out during the upload of the last screenshot...........:-(

hey all

could you guys PM me your addresses Please. I will try to take a look when I have a bit of free time.

from looking at it from what you have provided it seems borderline VDSL to me. so upgrade from ADSL will increase your DS but not your US.

if this is the case prob I can ask someone to see if there is a cabinet nearer to you which you can connect. If not then we are stuck with that constraint.

if there is a fault of some sort we should be able to get it fixed. I can do a bit of digging and see what your neighbors are getting etc and if it's similar or not.
