If you are experiencing issues sending emails from your Paradise or Clear email address, try the following steps.
Clear: This is primarily for Outlook and Windows Live users

Would love to send you an email at that address... however my outgoing mail isn't working!
For about a week I've been getting this response:
An error occured sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: smtpin2.paradise.net.nz
I've also seen it say in1 and in3.
None of my settings have changed and it's happening on both computers - so I assume something has changed at your end? Changing my settings to clear.net as you suggested here hasn't worked.

Thanks for getting back to me Kate - I actually managed to get it working this morning after days of getting annoyed with it. Not entirely sure what worked after trying so many things so I hope I can recreate it on the laptop now! (changing it to clear.net definitely did not work for me, though - I'm still using smtp.paradise.net.nz)
Can I ask why this issue has suddenly come up? A change at your end? An update of some sort from our end? Something else?

That is very strange!
If you have any more issues with it - let me know and I'll get a specialist to take a look for you.
I believe the change is the result of getting the two previously separate ISP's (clearnet and Paradise) onto one platform. Paradise is the older of the two so as a result is on an older platform that couldn't be further updated - this is my assumption based on decisions made in the past but I will try and find out for sure

I had what appears to be the same problem.
I fixed it by changing the smtp setting to smtp.vodafone.co.nz
(I have a paradise email address)
No problems now, but it really looks like an internal setting change within the Vodafone system that should have been communicated to Paradise/Clearnet users?

trying to get my sister setup on her new PC - Windows 10. Incoming fine. Outbox not processing. As one customer suggested I changed the smtp to vodafone and, Bingo, the emails appeared in Sent folder BUT they didn't go through to the recipients. I've now deleted account and reloaded it.
Syncing asks for password each time?
Now no emails are showing. inbox or sent !!

I have Windows Live Mail 2012 loaded on my work computer. Our internet provider at work is Spark. When I came back from lunch today I can't send or receive emails from my clear.net account on Live Mail. My hotmail one is working fine, as is my work email. Have the settings changed?? I can access my email via webmail. The message I get is:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Clear.net (carey.poulter) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] (#AUTH002) Incorrect username or password.
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92

@CareyPoulter definitely somehow the settings have changed in your email client..
As you can see from the INFO you posted, it is trying to call pop3.xtra.co.nz on port 995 (the incoming mail server for xtra email addresses) , it needs to be calling pop.clear.net.nz on port 110.
Correct the settings in your mail client

I tried your suggestions but still not working. I took screen shots of the setting but can't seem to attach a document to show you!
