Had a head count for the last two days, sent 73 spam messages to "missed spam @ paradise".

This is much a daily event and clogs general business messages to the extent they take about half an hour or more to get through. Spark - 30 seconds. When will this be fixed ?

It was good for a couple of weeks but the spam has slowly started to creep back again and getting worse each day. We had eleven today (luckily not the huge volume some people are getting) but they are a pain to have to delete twice, once for the inbox and again for the 'deleted' file that I like to keep for a couple of months. I even downloaded the free 'Mailwasher' programme that is supposed to catch these and it only managed to catch one or two and the rest just bypassed it and went straight into the inbox. Have long given up sending these to 'missed spam'.

@Colleen

Mailwasher will catch them BUT you need to set up your own filters.

You also need to make sure that Mailwasher is checking all incoming emails against the Spam databases (like Spamhaus / Spamcop etc)

I have several filters that are checking emails for certain words/phrases (like Viagra etc)

Its checking the subject line and body of the email.

You can set up many filters like this and have the emails deleted automatically (so you dont see them) or be displayed and deleted with user input i.e. deleted on process mail.

It does take a bit of "fiddling" with and I must admit I perfer the older version (ver 6) than the newer one.

yes spam just as bad and some of them more obscene. I have now gone to Gmail.  So sick of it, such an inconvenience, we send to missedspam and still no change.

@Ja5ck6@Collette

There is a message from @MikeHales on this thead:

http://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Broadband-services/Clear-net-spam-levels/m-p/211696#M20844

message number 145 that says

Once again, apologies.

I've been in contact with the engineers and they're both aware of the issue and working on it actively. The challenge is we are adding capacity to the recently installed spam filter setup - which is in progress (couple of weeks) - and occasionally the overflow has gone through our previous setup, hence some spam getting through.

So, once again, sorry for not updating sooner but wanted to make sure I had all the facts first.

That it as you will.

Frankly I've heard it before !

@Ja5ck6

If you've setup a Gmail account, we can forward all of your clearnet/paradise emails to this, and Google's spam filters will help filter out the spam.

Sam, thank you for your input, however this about the biggest admission of defeat that could be given on Vodafones inability to rectify the problem. i.e. port all these messaes through another provider to use their filters to resolve the issue.

We could do likewise with Spark as their filters are excellent.

However we have a Company wide structure in place and don't really want to change any of that.

Though it may come to that end

Better that Vodafone get a proper handle on this and come up with a fix. Today I again forwarded 75 spam emails to "Missed Spam" and is the daily order of things. A few days back I was waiting for a specific and urgent email on Paradise which was apperently lost in the ether - as it happened for 30 plus minutes. The same messafge redirected through Spark due to the urgency of the moment was received in seconds.

Therein lies the scale of the problem.

I agree - why should we have to get our emails forwarded to gmail. I do have a gmail account but I share the Paradise one with my partner so he would not be able to see them. Just too hard!

I am so sick of the spam coming into my inbox. I rang vodafone weeks ago and they asked me to forward the emails to missed spam.  One persistent sender, (every day), continues even though I have  blocked them and forward their emails to vodafone. Most of the emails do not even have my correct email address, many different names but all that's correct is @paradise.net.nz.

Not good enough vodafone.
