SMTP question

HI there Ninja's

I'm messaging you on behalf of my father. He has started consulting & uses his laptop with Outlook 2010, as his eamil program.

He has a new VDSL connection at home, which he signed up coming from Telstra/Paradise. He uses his current Paradise email as his work contact.

When he is on-site at clients, he can recieve his email but cannot send it. I have been reading on here about the SMTP servers & still not sure which is the correct SMTP sever for him.

Does he need to authenticate the Vodafone SMTP server through Outlook?

Regards,

Gareth Basher

Yes smtp authentication should be enabled but when he is at home I take it he is using a vodafone.co.nz address with smtp.vodafone.co.nz as the outgoing server?

If it's working on the home internet connection then they are correct just enable smtp authentication in out,

Use the oprion ' Use same as incoming settings '

Hi John.

With him still using his Paradise email, with the POP for Paradise & the SMTP for Vodafone, will his Paradise login details be the correct details?

@GarethBasher

Paradise credentials will not work on smtp.vodafone.co.nz or smtp2.vodafone.net.nz

And smtp.paradise.net.nz does not support authentication.
