I'm in Ellerslie, no fibre connection. No indication on either Vodafone or Chorus status sites.

Do you have a Vodafone mobile? Our technical team can add data to this to keep you up and running.
Back up again now in Invercargill.
For me and my brother both on FibreX in Christhchurch switching to googles dns resolved the issue.
