Intermittent inability to access websites

We have a VDSL connection using Vodafone. Once or twice or more every day there are periods, from a few seconds to a few minutes, when we cannot access websites. Sometimes this is all websites - even local - for example I had to click this community link about 10 times over about 2 minutes in order to finally get through. At other times local sites seem easier to access than overseas. I might be able access nzherald but not bbc.

For a time there we thought it might be related to the static we had been getting on our landline. However that has been fixed with no improvement.

Is the modem losing internet connection?

Thanks for responding.

Yes, the problem remains. At about 10:05am, we have just had our first "outage" this weekend, lasting for about 5 minutes when no websites at all were accessible. Then everything came right.

I would very much appreciate it if Vodafone could suggest a solution to this problem.

Today's instance affected all internet connections from different devices in the house. However there have been instances when some sites have been available but not others.

If you are getting static on the line this could / would be causing the internet to drop out, Please call and log a job so a Chorus tech can come and look into what is causing the static, Make it clear to the person you speak to you have static on the line

 

VDSL does not like any noise on the line when compared to ADSL, Make sure you ask for the fault ticket number and note it down
