I don't want to have to call the Customer Service desk again as they were totally useless last time. The gave us such a run around - and in the end said it was our Modem - which they sent a new one out. Well the same problem keeps happening - this is the fourth time in the past 6 months that I have complained about the internet speed to our property - how can one work and use the internet when the speed is 2mp download and 0.61 upload - that is third world service. This speed test is done on a hard wired desktop - NOT on the wireless which is even worse. Vodafone you need to give us better service. I'd like a local NZ person to call to fix this problem as someone who dosen't even know where Templeton is which is only 6 minutes from a large suburb of Christchurch isn't helpful!! Please sort it out.

Interesting. I changed to Vodafone Rural Broadband 3 days ago. Prior to that I was getting 1.4mpbs download and maybe .8 upload with Spark on overhead lines. When the technician was doing the install and checking speeds he was getting 4 to 8 mpbs down. Since he has left the property my download speeds are consistently less than they were with Spark and my uploads are twice the downloads. The Vodafone 3G tower is within sight of my antenna and just up a small hill. There seems to be no difference when using a wireless or a wired connection to the modem

It's painful - it always seems that when new people move into the district (lifestyle blocks) our speed decreases, I'm sure they complain and something gives so we loose bandwidith - it really is third world - we live so close to Hornby it's a joke and a speed of less than 3mb download just isn't good enough. I think both providers are as bad as one another !

As far as I know I dont have a splitter. I was recording my speed test results and started to get some good speeds. Right now it is 6.57 down 2.29 up. The best I have had between 19/3 and 21/3 was 10.08 down. Average 5.10 down
A marked improvement. When I contacted support they reset the account and it seems to be ok since. The technician that did the install told me he has seen 100 down on rural broadband 4G. Looking forward to that upgrade!
Thanks for the interest

Have a read here of why it's important to make sure your own internal wiring is top notch for the best broadband experience.
