I am having no problems port forwarding or using the DMZ option on the Huawei HG659 router. Unfortunately after a couple of days the setting disappears. The user defined port forwarding Application remains but the connection to the Mac address is gone, and the same if I put the address in the DMZ. It's OK for a couple of days and then disappears. As there appears to be no user manual on God's green earth for this router I'll see if anyone here has an answer. Does the router have an automatic timeout maybe. Rebooting the router or powering it on and off doesn't lose the settings.

If that doesnt work, Make sure you assign a static IP to the device that you are trying to forward and not to rely on the MAC.

My HG659 arrived this morning. It is running the version 13 firmware already although when setting up a DMZ I still only have the option to add via MAC address. How do I do it via IP?

Hmm, Not too sure. i think if you assign a static lease you can pick that IP address. Im guessing you want to move it around a bit?

Thanks, I had assumed from the post above that the firmware update meant that IP could be used instead of MAC address.
I can workaround it if MAC is the only option but IP is my preferred method.

Hi there.. followed that link you posted to forward the ports - that was simple enough thanks a lot!
Only question I have.. I am trying to open ports for my xbox 360.. under teh 'Internal Host' field, what should I put? The xbox as the host.. the router.. my laptop?
Sorry if this is a very ignorant question, this is all pretty alien to me.
