The permissions table seems out of wack on that router, plus with other issues it seems you need to do a factory reset to restore the capabilty.

Firmware upgrade is definately under Admin login

This new August firmware is pretty unreliably.

Have had to reboot fully twice over last week due to internet dying completely.

Might have to go back to the Spark firmware which was pretty rock solid.

Or is there some way to get the HG659 replaced with the new Ultra Hub?

I had to buy a digital timer plug and programme it to cut power at 2am every morning for 5 minutes to force a reboot. Otherwise people in our house find the internet slows to a crawl.

We still have a continual problem with drop-outs on the Wifi, and often the DHCP server won't release IPs particularly for macOS devices so sometimes a Mac will get "IP address conflict" messages. This often occurs when switching from plugged in ethernet to WiFi.

If the UltraHub improved on these things, especially needing nightly reboots, I would happily pay postage to upgrade!

Vodafone were happy to upgrade me, just have to drop off the HG659 into a Vodafone store. Should be interesting to see how much better it is over the 659 not that I had any real serious issues with it. One time I did have the WIFI basically drop down to KBps for some reason.. Anyone know what the model number is on it? I assume everything about it will be better on it.

I had to update my 659 manually, it was still running v20, guess it's a long roll out.

They tell me now they need to send a tech out to install it.
