Downstream speed extremely slow on high speed cable.

First post. Greetings/salutations.

Anyway, my 130Mbps (yes - I am on the old 130/10 package), is barely getting 10Mbps down - up is fine.

Latest speedtest.net result is 6ms ping| 9.23Mbps Down|10.06Mbps Up - this is to the "Wellington" server "Hosted by VF NZ".

Monitored realtime bandwidith isn't showing high downstream (doesn't exceed 10Mbps). It's as if I'm capped at 10Mbps (!?)

Has someone mistakenly reconfigured my downstream speed?

Cheers.

Speed is backup to 100/10 now.

Will monitor situation to see if it reoccurs before marking this as resolved.

Will start another thread for why we aren't getting 130/10 on our "Unlimited Ultra Fast Cable 130 and home phone" plan.

Speed has improved to 31.90/10.09 down/up. This is when nothing else in the house is using broadband.

Have had speeds of 120/10 down/up, but typically in the 100/10 range most other times.

I have the same issue. Kelburn area of Wellington on Fiber.

Usually 100 M/Bits down, 10M/Bits up. Since Friday has been around 0.5 M/Bits Download.

I am currently the only one in the house, have reset, unplugged and followed all pre help guides. Nothing.

Tried ringing Vodafone but was on hold for ages so I gave up.

Having similar issue not far from Kelburn for my Ultrafast 50 cable.  Not getting anymore than 6mbs.

Also finding it takes far too long to get through to the call centre.

Hvaing same issue in Miramar on my 10/100MB plan.  Upload is fine but download is terrible and seems range from 100MB in the morning and then get worse and worse as the day goes on.  Then in the evening it really gets worse and ranges from 20MB to finally being around 2MB.

Someone mentioned that Vodafone are aware of the issue and it's do do with load on the network.  They apparently need to upgrade some of the network nodes.  I haven't been given any other details or timeframes of when this will be fixed.

I'm hoping soon as it's getting a bit frustrating

Have just noticed that on the Vodafone website that now, different from a week or so ago, only standard broadband is available at my address (the VDSL I'm paying for is apparently unavailable).   I seem to have had my service degraged without notice or a change in billing.

Has anyone else noticed something like this?

I realize this reply is late, but yes, I've found the same.  Vodafone's site says that only VDSL and ADSL are available at my house, although we're on cable and I'm paying for UFB 130/10.  Not impressed.  I just tested our speed direct with the modem and got 14.7 Mbps-- barely 1/10 of what we're paying for.

Same experience! At the moment getting 3.0mbps on a 100/10 plan, I live in Newtown, Wellington. Ridiculous. Sort it out vodafone.
