@JulieS not for me... I do not have phone and Internet with them . Purely my email address which I access by webmail. Unfortunalty my account is in credit so withholding payment not feasible. Honestly I'm not trying to cause trouble. I simply want some straight answers to the situation.

A few years back I also paid for just the webmail account as it is one that I've had for nearly two decades and it is my primary address. If that was still the case I would be wanting refunds too because it is not fit for the purpose intended! I wonder if the consumer guarantees act applies here - it could be argued that it is a product that is not functioning as it should be.

@JulieS@JonathonRaynerBurt@IanB@Julie2@capcomnz
Apologies all once again for the spam.
I've been in contact with the engineers involved and work is continuing with quite a lot happening during July to upgrade the system. As noted in the thread, there's still spam getting through which is frustrating I'm sure - as it is for us. The current process of reporting email spam (Clear and Paradise) to us still applies - please note that the process doesn't work for webmail.
I can only state again that it is a high priority for us and we're really sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the update.
Did they give a timeframe of when they expect this to be permanantly done ?
At present I've seen comments about fixes in place in the next 2-3 weeks and that was mid june !!
Then this lastest lot of spam hits us.....makes you wonder
"quite a lot happening during July"
Sounds like they are overhauling the spam filtering system.
Does this mean we can except periods when spam will make it through the filters?
Hope you can advise of a timeframe of when this will be completed

@mike Hales
How about someone also paying attention to the threads about Paradise email and spam too..
Regards reporting spam, that only works if you are using an OS and email program that supports attaching emails.. mine doesn't and even if it did why should I have to spend hours sending reports for all the spam coming through..
This has only happened since Vodafone took over our accounts.. I am very careful about what I click on and reply to.. hope this issue isn't a result of our email addresses being gathered from your servers..

Check your email here:
Will show where its been taken from.
Mine was Adobe (registered some software)
I know a lot was from Linkden as well
Doesnt mean thats the case for you.

Thanks for that. Checked and same.. that, however, doesn't account for the increase in spam since Vodafone took over our accounts.. IMHO..
Cheers

Well Vodafone is using the Brightmail system of Spam Filtering and even that can only do so much.
Several months ago there was a wave of spam directed towards the Vodafone servers and that’s where this has all stemmed from.
Its like a DDOS attack.
Imaging high pressure water constantly running through a weaken tap. Its only going to hold so much before it drips!!
From what I have heard, they were updating the system to handle this and was on track for completion at the end of June BUT they decided to continue and make the system more robust and continue with better upgrades. Hopefully in place in a few weeks.
From what I have heard…it “should” be a lot better BUT it will still need fine tweaking as all software updates do.
Sometimes with these types of updates you change one thing only to make something else worse.
That’s why in the last week (for me it was the 28th June), I think, more spam got through to the inbox.
I’m not to worried about the spam that’s in the spam folder using webmail. To me that’s been caught by the spam filters.
It’s the same with Gmail or Outlook/Hotmail. Any spam will always go to a spam/junk folder.
I guess that’s because it might of given a false positive against the filtering system that’s used.
Myself, I’m just deleting the spam in the spam folder. Only reporting that which makes it to my inbox.
I also protect myself further by using a piece of NZ software call Mailwasher. Helps check/filter emails for spam. I can add filters so Mailwasher checks for certain words (like Viagra) in either the subject line or the body of the email. So now everything is fully blocked and covered.
Been using Mailwasher for years and lately its truly paid for itself.
As for your comment before on the Paradise threads….its hard when there is so many posting/threads going. I think I have counted a least 4 different threads at the moment about this issue.
I do think they (Vodafone) need to keep people more updated on what’s happening, even if its just to say…”we have decided to update the system further than we originally planned….be aware that spam might get through to your inbox….please report this to (email address)” or something like that.
However, I have to admit that the last spam email that made it to my inbox was yesterday at 12:40pm
Since then nothing! (may it last)

Thanks, @capcomnz this is the kind of info that customers find really useful, why vodafone don't take time to keep cutomers informed.
On the spam, getting to my inbox, I use the Thunderbird email client and it has a great inbuilt spam filter that can be trained and I find it very quickly correctly filters 99%+ correctly
