HD Voice not working with compatible Smart Phone and Same Provider

Hi, My friend just bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 4. He's on the same provider as me with Vodafone, and we seem to not get hd voice in a voice call. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as well. When I call my mum's mobile (Samsung Galaxy Note 4), HD voice works. Same with my dads phone which is a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Was handset purchased from Vodafone NZ, other NZ provider, or is it parallel import / overseas import? Checked it has latest firmware installed?

My friends phone is parrelled imported with the lastest firmware and exact model numbers.

That will be the issue as not all carrier variants have HD-Voice enabled. You could try flashing with the Vodafone NZ firmware.
