I cannot send email messages from Android tablet and Android phone using Outlook. Can receive. I suspect that smtp setting may be wrong?  I am currently in India and tomorrow will be in Bali but problem existed prior to leaving NZ. Can you please assist preferably to my Vodafone email address. Thank you

Hi @KeithBishop,

Is it a vodafone.co.nz email address that you are using?

Try the following settings and see if it works for you:

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.vodafone.co.nz

Port: 25

SSL: Off

Username: full email address

Password: your email password

Kind regards,
Arif Khan.

Thank you. Unfortunately this still does not work. There is no option to turn SSL on and off?

You can try to update your Outlook apps from Google Play or APKMirror or AndroidAPKsBox, update to the latest version app.

Check your email provider’s outgoing server address. Make sure your email provider's outgoing mail server isn’t using port 25. Port 25 is only available for use with Vodafone's outgoing mail server. If your email provider uses port 25, vodafone recommend contacting them about using an alternative SMTP server port.
Check your username. This may differ in format to your usual email address.
Check your email provider offers an SSL encrypted server for off-net access. If they do, enter these into your email settings.

Use SSLYes / switch on
Require authorisationYes / switch on

If your email provider doesn't offer an SSL encrypted server for off-net access, you can use the Vodafone outgoing mail server. Config below:

STMPsmtp.vodafone.net.au
Server port25
Security type/use SSLNo / switch off
Require authenticationNo / switch off
UsernameMust be blank
PasswordMust be blank

Please note, you won't be able to send emails with vodafone outgoing mail server while your phone is connected through WiFi to another internet provider. We recommend using your email provider’s outgoing mail if possible.
